SO frustrated!

So we've had Guiness for about a week now, and he's still not getting that he needs to go OUTSIDE when he goes potty. I think part of the problem is that he spent all day outside before we got him, and now since he's inside most of the time, he thinks he can just go anywhere since that's what he did before. The other part of the problem is us. I, for one, am so trustful of Rusty it's hard to remember that we have another little puppy who is still learning! Jason, sorry to say, pays too much attention to the TV instead of Guiness. urgh.
He's been sleeping really well at night, though. Last night was the first night this week he got me up. 3:30 am is early! So we went outside, went potty, and I smelled poop when we came back in. Apparently when I was in the shower last night and Jason was "watching" the dogs, he pooped on the floor - in two different places!! So, as I'm cleaning it up (remember, it's 3:30 in the morning) I turn around and he's pooping again! And we had just gone outside, so I was VERY frustrated by this point.
Rusty was so different when he was little. He was scared to get in trouble, and once he understood where the front door was, he would go and whine by it to let us know he had to go out. Guiness, on the other hand, could care less. He has a very short attention span, and gets easily distracted outside when it's time to go potty, causing accidents inside. Plus Guiness is VERY stubborn, and so far, doesn't care too much when he gets in trouble. I guess we'll just have to start spanking harder! He also likes to chew on things, other than his toys - wood, the coffee table legs, Rusty's ear, shoes...the list goes on!
But I also have to say that I love the little guy, even with all of his flaws! He'll get it eventually. It's only been a week, right?
The vet said he's actually looking really healthy, and as pups, they can look pretty skinny, but that he will fill out. That was good to hear.
We have someone coming to look at the car tonight, so wish us luck! Jason has decided he doesn't want to sell it for another 2 weeks, just to give him enough time to get his company truck. Good plan!

It is really a wake up call when you get a pup, we forgot how they were until Chloe. He'll get it, even if he is a little stubborn like his cousin Magnum!

Oh man, little puppies. I forgot they were so much trouble. I hope he gets over the chewing thing...you remember how Dakota is? There is a spray that you can get, its in pet stores, and it has a bitter taste to it so dogs then won't chew on the furniture. It doesn't damage it, or smell, or get sticky, it just doesn't taste good to the dog. I'll see if we still have some and let you know which brand. Good luck with that.
