After that, my kitchen was COVERED with a layer of dust. It was so gross! But I was trying not to freak out....
Anyway, hours later and a trip back to Lowe's, Jason put down another sheet of particle board. Once that was done, the new dishwasher was finally able to be installed. He was pretty sure he could install it himself, and he did, but he was extremely grumpy throughout the entire process. He gets really worked up about this kind of stuff; he gets worried that he's somehow going to damage something or mess up the re-sale value of our home.
So now the dishwasher is in. The final step is to replace the linoleum. He found that he didn't have the proper tool to lay it out, and against his better judgment (since he was all worked up and grumpy) he left for another trip to Lowe's. When he came back, empty-handed, I found out he had forgotten his wallet AND wrecked the bumper of his truck. So much for selling it at full value now! He was really upset, and I felt so bad for him!
Shortly thereafter, I left for Walmart, and he said he would finish everything up so I could make dinner when I got home - he would just try to roll out the flooring by hand. It actually doesn't look too bad. There's only one seam you can really see, and I'm not that concerned about it at this point.
The dishwasher (a Whirlpool, by the way) runs perfectly, and is SO quiet compared to the last one - so far I LOVE it! Jason worked really hard on everything - most of the time I think it's really nice to have my husband be handy with stuff like this, but I had hoped it would go more smoothly for him!

Poor Jason...at least it's all done. Seems like all house projects seem to have hiccups if you decide to do it yourself (speaking from lots of experience :))...no matter how small the project!!
I know you know what it's like! Hopefully the rest of his week goes better. :)
I just stay out of the way when Joe is doing a project it stresses both of us less. I am glad it all done for you guys now.
