Well, after Anthony's doctor appointment yesterday, the new numbers are.... 19lbs, 1oz, and 26 1/2" long! (Roughly the 75th and 50th percentiles, but like Lauren says, who cares about averages?!) We only got a few shots yesterday. I decided to delay some of the others (why do babies even need a HepB shot? Are they sexually active or does mom have it? Certainly not in this case) so we have to go back at 9 months to get the Dtp. The others I think she will let me wait a lot longer. Why overload his little system, ya know? Especially with all the research these days suggesting that immunizations are somehow linked with autism. It's all very scary as a new mom.
Anyhoo, he can start eating more solids now - 2nd stage veggies, fruits, baby cereal, smashed up avocado, bananas, watermelon, etc. We'll see what he likes. This is going to be fun! Dinnertime is going to get a lot more interesting!
She's forseeing that he will grow out of his baby car seat before he hits a year, whether it be he gets too long or because he exceeds the weight limit. But babies can't face forward in their car seat until they are 20lbs AND 1 year old. It's going to be tough; we don't really want to have to buy 2 more new car seats in the next 6 months!
No teeth to report on yet, and his heat rash has turned really dry; she said it might be a weird strain of eczema, so we're just going to see if vaseline a couple of times a day will help. I don't really want to use the steroid cream she prescribed if I don't have to. Other than that, he's a happy, healthy baby (as you all can see from his 6-month pictures!)
In other news, we finally had the tile/stone lady do our walk-through estimate on Saturday. We ended up going into the showroom on Saturday to pick out some tile for the fireplace area, which I want to have redone. She pointed out this granite that was marked down to $5/sq ft - SO CHEAP! It's gray with some dark purples in it - so pretty. I wasn't really sure Jason liked it that much, but after we left, he brought it up, so I made him go back and make sure he liked it enough for the kitchen. We decided to go with it, and I think it's going to look great! Plus it will help cut down on the cost. So we're going to use it for the kitchen counters, my little folding shelf in the laundry room, and on the fireplace, too. They will be able to just do a slab of granite instead of tile.
Friday night I had scrapbooking at my house - so much fun! The girls didn't end up leaving until 11:30pm, but I have to say I think we got more talking done than anything!
Sunday after church, we got a few things done, and then had Anthony's pictures. Jason's cousin came by to stay the night with us, a little unexpectedly, but we had a good visit.
This week is going to be a busy one, and then we have more visitors coming this weekend!

Growin baby! That granite sounds really pretty, I bet it goes well with the grey paint you picked out. Will we get any pictures any time soon? :)
Yup, as soon as some ACTUAL work is done!!
The granite sounds pretty.
You will love the granite. It is so nice to work on and looks so good.
Glad Anthony is progressing so well and everything is good. I can't believe he is 6 months alreayd.
Yay, I'm glad Anthony's doing so well! Good choice to space out the shots...I think his system will be able to handle it so much better. (And I agree about the hpv!) Sounds like your new place is really coming together, I can't wait to see it all!
Our little man seems like he doing great, hoping all the outfits we are bringing are going to fit him.
Grandpa can't wait to shop for Christmas for him, I'm sure something to do with machines.
