Keeping it all straight

Lots going on this week! Jason and I had a broker come over and look at our current house on Saturday. He thought we were right in the ballpark for how much we want to rent it for. He charges 8% of what he takes in, though, so I personally think it's just better to deal with renters ourselves and not have to pay the fee. He doesn't offer much more exposure than what we already have out there. (craigslist and newspaper) So Sunday when we went to Home Depot to pick out all of our ceiling fans, fixtures, paint, etc, we picked up a "FOR RENT" sign and stuck it in our front yard.
Yesterday I got a call from a lady who was interested in renting, but she had a few other places to look at. Come to find out, her daughter goes to the same daycare as Anthony! I never heard back from her last night, though. I think it's because she was ready to move in THIS coming weekend, and I told her we would TRY, but wasn't sure we could make it work. Jason and I had pretty much decided this weekend that since we hadn't had any inquiries yet, we were going to give ourselves another couple of weeks to get everything done and move in to the new place. He's still trying to get the closets done and everything picked up so the painters can come in at the end of this week, and we pushed the carpet installation back to the 2nd. Unfortunately, I think his plate is a little too full and he's stressing himself out cause this morning he stayed in bed for a little while. He's not feeling too good. :(
Anyway, this morning I got an email from a guy who is in the Air Force. He's coming home on October 5th, and he and his wife and daughter are looking for a house to rent. He's really interested, so I sent him an application. This could be the one! So please pray that it all falls into place for us!
Of course I didn't take any pictures this past weekend at the new house, but I'm so happy with how all of the granite and tile turned out. It looks beautiful. Now I'm just hoping I chose the right colors of paint!!
So as everyone knows, I started the BFD Fitness Challenge 12 weeks ago. Yesterday SHOULD have been the end of it, but we haven't heard a word from our tester as to when he is scheduling our final pinch test. Well, I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself, regardless of whether I win or not. I'm down 21 lbs and I feel so much better. I know I have a ways to go, but I think the hardest part is behind me - retraining myself to eat better and getting an exercise plan in place - one that I will actually continue!
Anthony is officially in his new classroom. He seems to like it. It was really cute this morning: I put him down next to another little guy in front of the toy box, and Anthony reached over and put his hand on his arm, like he was saying "This is my friend, mommy!" So cute.
That's all for now. I'll keep everyone posted!

Sounds like everything's falling into place with the new house, how exciting! And congratulations on your fitness challenge, YOU ROCK!! That's so awesome. I hope the Air Force renters work out, and that Jason doesn't work himself into the ground. Love you! :)

I really want to see pictures of the house! Slacker! :) That sounds good with the air force guy, they get a stipen every month for rent so you would probably be good with him. Hope it works out!

Definitely congrats on the weight loss!!! Keep it up and you'll keep dropping also make sure once you get to your goal that you keep up with the good stuff so that you don't gain it back. If you hit a plateau change up your routine and it'll keep dropping!!!

I think it's a good idea to take on the renting yourself because then YOU know who you are renting to. Make sure to check references though because even though they look great and can talk the game doesn't mean that they really are good people. I have heard and seen some horror stories of house owners who rent their other houses... make sure you know your rights and again that they are truely good people!!!
