A New Home

So everyone pretty much knows that I've had Sophie cat for about 9 years now. (She just turned 9 in August) I've made her move many times, made her live with my parents in the garage for about 6 months, and now I've kicked her outside. My original plan was for her to stay in the garage, with a little corner "carved" out for her, just like Jason did for the dogs' pen at the old house. It was decided that wasn't going to work out so well, considering she was really scared every time the garage door opened, and heaven forbid I run her over pulling in and out in the car. Jason also wanted a place to store his lawn mower and extra "stuff," so as a gift, my in-laws bought us a shed! It even matches our house! The picture turned out kinda dark, but you get the idea.

It has 2 man doors, a small window (which Sophie can look out of cause her post is right underneath of it) a dog/cat door on the right side, and even a skylight! Jason and his dad insulated it this past weekend, and we will use the space heater for when it gets colder, just like we did for the dogs in the garage. Her litter box is up on a shelf so the dogs can't get it, and I have to say, I think she's enjoying herself. She seems pretty happy, although she's cried at the back door a few mornings when it's been pretty cold. I even think she killed a bird! There was one left at our back door on Monday. As guilty as I was about kicking her out, I feel pretty good about her new space. I hope she likes it, too. :)

Of course, the dogs have a small corner of it for when we are at work. They haven't had to use it yet, though, cause Jason has been home. For those of you that don't know or haven't heard, he was laid off the day before we moved. Anyhoo, I needed to wash all of their outside blankets. I finally got them done last night and laid them on the carpet to take outside. They were all nice and warm, and anyone who knows Rusty knows that is right up his alley! He found them, of course, and here he is enjoying the coziness.
