It was very cute and comfy, all decorated in a bear & horses theme. I originally thought it was on the lake, but it was actually in a woodsy area.
We went out to dinner the first night at McCall Brewing Co., which was just okay. The rest of the time we bought groceries to cook for ourselves.
Friday we drove out to Ponderosa State Park and took the scenic drive to look out over Payette Lake. Here are some pictures from our drive:

We decided to climb up to the top where you can look out over the lake:
It was so beautiful!
It was such a nice day, too, only about 75 degrees.
So, as most everyone knows, Anthony is getting a lot better at walking, and more independent, so he wanted to get down and walk around. It was pretty rocky, but we decided to let him anyway. Well, here was the result:
As you can see, it was a bit of a struggle for him on such uneven ground, but he was determined to do it himself and not cry!! Too funny.
After this video, I wanted to try to take some pictures for the "family album," but he was so mad that I had picked him up, he wasn't going for it!!
Needless to say, after we made it back down the hill, which we did not let him walk down by himself, the whole forest could hear him and the deer were gone! I had wanted to go into town and look at all of the shops, but it ended up being a good choice not to!
It was so nice to just get away for a few days, but I must admit, it was not that relaxing with a 15-month old crabby guy! He did have his moments of sweetness, however, and that made it better. :)
The morning before we left, we went to The Pancake House for breakfast, which gets rave reviews. I think had I just stuff with my normal choice of pancakes or french toast, I would have been fine, but for some reason I had been craving chicken fried steak, and it was sick! ugh. Even Jason agreed it was not prepared in the usual way. Such a disappointment, but I would try it again in a heart beat.
We're looking forward to spending some more family time there and eventually, maybe some time on the lake.

It looks very peaceful and a place where you can relax. We are glad you had a good time.I wonder sometimes where the Independence that Anthony has came from (????)
Looks beautiful! Glad you guys had a good time. It's always nice to get away from everything for a little bit.
