Yard Transformation

So for the last couple of weeks, our yard has slowly started to transform into something much better! As you can see from the pictures below, we didn't have much of a patio, and our side yard was full of weeds and gravel. I never wanted to even BE outside because it was so ugly and I just couldn't keep up with making it look somewhat decent!
This was the view from our back door. This is our little shed, a.k.a. Sophie's house. :)
Here is another view, from the backyard. As you can see, quite ugly. Oh, and yes, the little dog house is "white trash" as Jason says, but Sophie adopted it as her own (it was left behind from the previous owners), so we can't get rid of it now!
The view of our back door and teeny, tiny patio
Our house on the other side. Doesn't look nearly as bad, but why do you really need grass there? It's just more to mow!
The beginning of the transformation!
The side yard after the concrete was poured - doesn't it look great?
The other side yard, closest to our back door - no more weeds!!!
The finished product - we LOVE it!!!
Here is a close-up of the patio. It's a stamped concrete, with a little bit of green color it in. The next step is for Jason to build an arbor over it so that we have some shade, and eventually get some patio furniture and decorate it with lights, etc. I am so happy it turned out so nice. You don't know the feeling I have of being able to look out there now with no disgust!
The front yard and other sections of the backyard are also getting a small makeover. They are finishing the grass transplant today and hopefully this weekend we can go pick out our trees and other foliage. I'm not sure we'll be able to plant everything, but I'll take more pictures as it progresses.

It looks 100% better! The arbor will look great. Does it get really hot? You could even install misters intertwined with some creeping plant, that would be so summery!
