So by now you probably know that Byron was born on Easter Sunday! My water broke at 3:40am, in the middle of the night, all over our bed - nice! A quick phone call to mom and dad and they were over here fast! It was so nice to know they were close and taking care of Anthony for us.
To the hospital.... nothing was happening, as far as contractions went. So finally after much walking, etc, at 10:45am, they started me on pitocin to get contractions going. (sounds a lot like Anthony's birth...) He finally arrived at 4:23pm! The last 3-4 centimeters were such a fast dilation that he came so quickly and his poor little face was all bruised!
As a result, he ended up with jaundice. We have been taking him in to the hospital to have blood drawn every morning, but he has luckily been able to stay at home with a special light blanket to reduce it. Day 6 - today - he is finally doing better, but we still have to go in tomorrow morning to make sure his levels are dropping. Here he is this afternoon, doing what he does best...
He has been fairly inconsistent about his sleep patterns at night, but does great during the day! He's a great eater, and seems to want to suck all of the time. He found his thumb just two hours after he was born, so we'll see if that evolves into yet another thumb sucker in the family!
Anthony is doing great with him. He's very interested in his diaper changes and his two "owies"and wants to hold him, as he's doing here. He came home from school one day and asked if he could "pet" Byron - how funny! When we brought him home the first night, he also asked him to say hi - we tried to explain that he couldn't talk yet. :)
So, he was 10 days early, and already 8lbs, 1oz, 20 1/2 inches! Can't imagine how much bigger he would have been had he waited until his due date!
Welcome to our family, Byron! We love you!

So happy for you guys...Byron's such a cutie...and it looks like so far Anthony might think having a little brother is pretty cool :) Of course, that's all subject to change!! Hope you are all doing well and getting some sleep. Hope the jaundice is all cleared up soon!
He looks so much like you when you were a baby! So cute and so big, ouch!
Congratulations!! He is ADORABLE!!! I hope you are doing well also. I am sure your parents are glad to be there to help.
