Yesterday Jason had an interview with Alliance, and he was pretty much hired on the spot! Alliance works closely with insurance companies, and they send their guys out to homes, office buildings, etc, where damage has been done by fire, flooding, high winds, earthquakes (well, not here in ID, but their other locations) etc., and the guys clean up, repair, and get things back in working order.
Assuming that he passes his drug test, physical, and background check, he will be starting out making the same amount of money that he does working for K2, and he will have lots of room to move up. His benefits will be awesome, and it will be the first time he has ever worked for a construction company who offers paid holidays, paid vacations, medical and dental benefits, and a 401(k). Once he passes his 90-day probationary period, he will be eligible for a small raise, and when he becomes a superintendent, he will be able to get a company truck and gas card. It really sounds like a great opportunity and that this company takes care of their employees. They work mostly here in the Treasure Valley, but will sometimes do jobs up in McCall, which is about 2 hours away.
Jason will also be on call one week per month, so the Nextel phone will stay by our bedside during that time, just in case he gets a 3am call!
Please keep him in your prayers, as it will take about a week for the background check to come back and for him to get the final word.
