Christmas Recap & Happy 33rd, Jason!

Still trying to recover, but at least it's not strep throat! (still hurts like one, though, and I feel bad cause it's my hubby's birthday and I got him sick, too! Happy Birthday, Jason!)

We spent a week in CA for Christmas this year. The driving conditions didn't end up being too terrible, although we took the longest route possible on the way there. Friday we drove to the Nauman's in Sacramento, stayed the night, then Saturday drove up to my parents.

Sunday the 21st - Mom turned 50! Jason woke up not feeling well, so we put him back to bed and went to church, where Anthony was very good except when it was time for the sermon, and having Uncle Jim behind him just made him louder! Quite comical, actually. I made calzones for Mom later that day, along with an apple pie and we just hung out.

Monday - bake day! I decided to do some more cookies. Made pork chops for dinner, one of dad's favorites. Grannie came by for a visit. Here she is with Anthony.

Tuesday - I guess it wasn't very eventful, cause I can't remember much. Steph & Jeremy got in that evening, and Steph visited for a little while.

Wednesday - Made pasta salad in the morning, then Steph came over and took over the kitchen! She had lots to make and did a great job (as usual!) on everything. Anthony opened one of his presents from Grammie and Grandpa, since he had so many!

Later on that evening, we went over to Grannie's house for dinner. The Dominguez family & Wiese family were there, so we all had a good visit. Too short as usual. Here's our family photo for 2008!

Thursday - We all slept in as late as possible! In the past, we do presents in the morning, but Steph & Jeremy split the day with his parents now, so we wait to do them until they come over. This year it was around 3pm. Anthony had lots to open, and he did a great job!

He was really good at tearing the paper...

But he just kept wanting to eat it!!

Later that evening we did our yearly fondue tradition. The garage actually wasn't too cold this year (must be that new door!)

Friday - Uncle Jim and Aunt Sandy came over for breakfast and gift exchange. We hung out the rest of the day. I thought family was going to come over to visit... later that afternoon Grannie and the Wiese's stopped by for awhile.

Saturday - Left around 8:45 to head to Minden. Stayed the night with Steph & Jeremy. Guiness kept barking at every sound and annoyed all of us!

Sunday - woke up feeling crappy and just wanted to be home! The drive wasn't too terrible, though. We (amazingly!) only had to stop once and I was so delirious I slept most of the way. We had one big present left at home for Anthony from the Robinsons (too big to take with us!!) so we opened it before he went to bed.

It's an adorable little rider that plays music and he can either ride it or pull it around by a string! So cute. Below is some video of Anthony opening his first presents - it was a great baby's 1st Christmas!

Aw, poor Anthony, he probably wanted to eat the paper cuz you don't feed him enough, wink wink (poor grannie we'll never let that one go). I just LOVED seeing Anthony in real life again! The Holidays and time with one another do always go by way too fast!!

Great background... I LOVE IT and as for your Tuesday, the reason why it was uneventful was my fault (damn bad weather). I'm really sad we didn't get to see each other and visit. I am not sure when my next trip home is either because I may be going to Ireland this summer instead of home and then if the weather next year is like this last december I told my family I refuse to come home in it. We'll figure something out... maybe meet in the middle this summer?
