When will it end?!

Poor little Anthony ended up in the ER last night. He's not been feeling well again, and Wed. Jason had to pick him up from daycare because he was running a fever. Fast forward to yesterday morning, where he was feeling better, no fever and not really coughing. Then fast forward to last night when I got home from work. Cough was back, but he did seem to look better, just fussy. Jason left for a class (without his cell phone) and we were finishing up dinner. He started getting pale and then his lips were turning a purplish color, then his lips started quivering and then his body. He was getting the chills and started shaking. So fast forward again (after I called my mom, a bit panicked - thanks mom!) and I'm on hold waiting to talk to a nurse, and he started throwing up all over me and himself. Yum. Finally talked to the nurse, got us ready and as we're backing out the driveway, Jason pulls up, so he jumps in the car with us and away we go. By the time they checked him at the hospital, he was already up to almost 105 temperature. Then we waited... and waited.... after an hour and a half, his fever had gone down considerably (they had given him some tylenol) and Jason went and asked the admission nurse when we were going to be seen. About 5 minutes later they gave us a room. He got a chest x-ray, blood drawn and the probes up his nose again to test for the flu and other viruses. About midnight they finally gave us the results - viral syndrome. Wow, pretty vague, huh? So basically we were discharged knowing that there was nothing we could do, his fever would most likely spike again and he had pockets of secretions in his lungs like he did when he had RSV, but luckily no RSV or flu. Poor guy, I just feel so bad for him. He's been through a lot in the short year of his life!
So I came to work late this morning and am now feeling bad myself (hopefully just lack of sleep) and Jason is watching him. Let's hope and pray for a very uneventful weekend! We're going to take him to his regular pediatrician Monday morning for a follow-up.

Poor little one. We will be praying for you guy's. That must be so scary to have happen. Is there anything they can do to make him a little more immune to things.

I cant believe they havent given you a nebulizer for his cough and lungs. Poor guy, hopefully when he sees his doc they can be a little more specific than the ER. The ER isnt very good at being specific....

How's everything go at the pediatrician today? Hopefully he worked through whatever was in there!! His immune system will be super strong after all these bugs!!
