Christmas 2011

Better late than never...

This Christmas was different than most. I only spent it with my immediate family. What's so bad about that? Nothing really, except that when your parents are 15 minutes away, you want to spend the holiday with them, too! So it just didn't feel right, but Byron was sick this year, so we each did our own thing.

Anthony and I went to Christmas Eve service at church on Friday evening. Then Saturday (Christmas Eve) we ran over to Grandpa and Grammie's house so he could open his presents before we went to another service where I was teaching the 2's class.

He looked absolutely adorable in his outfit from Ashley. So grown up in his tie!

He received a lot of really nice gifts from G&G, but none as great as T-Rex!! RRRROOAARRR!!

A super soft dinosaur blanket made by G&G

Smiling cause Mommy told him to :)

After service Anthony wanted to go back over to G&G's for more presents. When I said no, I got to listen to a screaming kid in the backseat for 20 minutes home. THAT was awesome.

Poor Byron had another cough and runny nose, right after he had gotten over his bronchiolitis from right after Thanksgiving. He wasn't feeling the best, but is almost always up for smiling when he hears the camera sounds. :)

G&G sent his gifts home, but I only let him open one.
He loved playing with the paper!

So sweet

Even though our tradition is to fondue on Christmas Day, we went ahead and did it both days since we already had all the food. This was Anthony's first year to actually participate, and I think he really enjoyed it....

...especially the dessert!!

That night Anthony had such a hard time sleeping. When I went to check on him at 10:45, he was still awake and told me he was going to wait for Rudolph and Santa to come. He was SO excited! We put out cookies for Santa, and just like last year, that was the first thing he noticed when he woke up the next morning - "All the cookies are gone!"

The boys opened their gifts and played, and we had a fun, relaxing family day.

Oh Trish, how did you get two such perfect models for the camera?! The fact they smile just about no matter what is too cute! And I wish I could just cuddle that little Byron right up out of the screen. Or tickle his chubby feet. Not sure which I want to do first.
Anthony is such the handsome little man, can't believe how big he is. And that tie is sooo cute on him.
